Single Passively Cooled Pump Donuts™

Many low duty cycle QCW applications will only require passive or conduction cooling, with temperature tuning of the laser diodes via TEC, or sub-threshold current simmering. As can be seen, pump donuts™ do not need to be "round."

Micro-pump donuts™ are used in applications such as rangefinders and target designators that require high peak powers, and are usually an extremely small, compact, lightweight, vibration resistant package. Micro-pump donuts™ are usually no larger than 25mm in diameter and can pump several kilowatts of optical power efficiently into a 1 to 3mm diameter rod

From just a sketch, LDAI can fabricate any configuration for any application. All design, prototyping, fabrication, burn-in and testing is done in-house. LDAI can take your hand sketch, convert it to a 3D drawing, and within 48 hours deliver a full scale model of the proposed component to your engineering department for review and test fitting. The pump donut™ is a compact, robust, and proven option for your next solid state laser program. Give LDAI a call today.
